Tomáš Klepoch

Tomáš Klepoch (*1981, Slovakia) graduated in the studio of graphics and other media and in the studio of visual communication at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava, Slovakia. He works in free graphic art and illustration, creates objects and installations in public space. He has exhibited his works in domestic and foreign galleries, participates in international exhibitions focusing on graphic art. He is the recipient of the National Design Award for 2009 and several awards for the most beautiful book. His works are represented in the collections of several galleries, including the Slovak National Gallery and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. He works with linocut and woodcut processes, experimenting with different printing methods (oven, wheelbarrow, garden roller), mate-rials (wood, building materials, resin) and carving methods (from chisels to milling cutters, carburetors to chainsaws). Through subjectively chosen symbols, he comments on the character of the Slovak landscape and its realities, often focusing on overlooked and marginal scenes.
