The exhibition presents work of Lucia Žitnayová in the context of building an alternative sense of security. With the desire to restore the childlike simplicity of perception of the world, the author finds herself in an illusory space where she discovers a tangle of shapes, structures and surfaces, uniting the material and visual essences of the home environment. The process of creating spatial paintings and objects is a sort of material game similar to the childhood one. Found motifs lead back to the reminiscences at the pond behind the house, playing in the mud or sand cookie “baking”. The author consolidates the concept of illusion by a visual game when the objects evoke in the observer a desire for direct contact with the artwork.
